Cherries are low in calories, full of fibre, vitamins and minerals. They are rich in antioxidants and contain the hormone melatonin - one of the very few fruits that do so. Cherries are extremely versatile and can be eaten raw or cooked and look fantastic just draped over a desert or on top of a peak of whipped cream. In our Chocolate Cherry Smoothie we have harnessed this super fruit to make this deliciously yummy chocolate smoothie, that hides how good it really is for you. Make it for the kids and hubby with the knowledge that they are all getting their nutrients without any fuss.
Ingredients
½ a cup of organic cherries1 cup of organic spinach
1 cup of your favourite nut milk (we used macadmia milk)
1 tbsp Mabel & Joy Balance Superfood Booster blend
Garnish
1-2 cherries with stalks on
Method
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Mix the fruit first with a little milk to break it all down, then add the rest of the milk and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into a beautiful glass and top with the cherries.
