It's true, we love our smoothies. We know you do too, because it's something we've discovered as we've gotten to know you at the markets.
If you've got a blender (we use a NutriBullet because it is god-damn tough), your mind can boogle with all the flavour combinations you can create. And that's why, over the Summer we'll be posting some of our faves, alongside their nutritional content for total transparency.
Our Blends sometimes form part of the ingredients, though are easily substituted. Our preference is to use the smoothies in a smoothie bowl, adding various M&J blends on top to create a delicious, and nutrient-filled brekky (or afternoon snack!).
Remember, the smoothies will thicken as they sit in your fridge or freezer so plan ahead and make double the recipe.
Life's a Peach
1 peach (frozen)
1/2 cup almond milk (or your choice)
3 tablespoons greek natural yoghurt (full fat!)
1 tablespoon plain protein powder (we use Paleolicious)
1 tablespoon almond butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
You know what to do - blend it! If you want it extra thick, throw some ice cubes in the blender.
Serve in a bowl, and drop some Mabel's Mix in for a superb start to your day.
If you have leftovers, freeze in ice block moulds for an after dinner treat!
